Marianne Dougherty is an award-winning writer and former beauty editor who has appeared on Live in L.A., Lifetime’s New Attitudes and Weekend Today.

In 2001 Harper-Collins published Asian Beauty, which she wrote for celebrity makeup artist Margaret Kimura. She has also written a memoir for celebrity hairdresser Brad Johns and a coffee table book celebrating the 50th anniversary of Half Price Books.

In 2019 and again in 2022, she was a finalist for a Golden Quill Award for journalistic excellence. As editor of WriteOn, the daily newsletter of SBWC she has interviewed dozens of authors, including Dorothy Allison, Jane Smiley, Tom McGuane, Lisa See, Fannie Flagg, Stephen Chbosky and Janet Fitch.

Her first novel will come out in 2023.
